200 hour Yoga Teacher Training - 2019.jpg
Doing the yoga teaching training program was an intense process that brought me many gifts. One of them was to develop an awareness of the self. The reading, journaling process, discussion and practical work brought me to a space within me that allow me to question my believes about what I knew about me and the world. It opens many possibilities celebrating my uniqueness and the powerful abilities I have to transcend my own limitations. It changed me in small ways and overtime I realized how by taking the time to engage in this personal journey my daily life is unfolding with beauty and gratitude...

uncover the teacher in you

Join Shelley Gower and Tracy Ng as we delve into the practice of yoga. Discover, grow and create an understanding that will guide you and your students into a deeper exploration of the body, mind and spirit.  The program will begin with the essentials, which is “physically” landing on your mat.  Here you will learn the foundation and integration of poses.  Each weekend will focus on a family of asanas and one chakra.  As we move through the training together you will gain the skills to really see yourself and your students.  Our program is designed to leave you with a solid understanding of how to be an effective and empowered yoga teacher.

This program will allow you to:

  • immerse yourself in the teachings of yoga to create change, self exploration and uncover the true you

  • Find a safe environment to connect with others, developing an open mind and open heart

  • Learn to become a knowledgeable and confident yoga teacher

Applied Anatomy

Know your bones, muscles, joints and fascia to know the poses. Studying anatomy in order to create a better understanding of the yoga postures, key actions, alignment and individual body differences. We will study together to uncover how all the structures in our body interact each other to move us in and out of the poses.  Each weekend we will deepen our understanding of both you’re own anatomy and your students within the asanas and beyond the mat.

Families of asanas, alignment, cueing, use of props and hands on assist

Each weekend we will explore a family of asanas, discuss the similarities in these poses from the point of view of key actions, muscular engagement opening of the body and various levels of the postures/kramas.  We will come together to discuss use of props for the asanas, verbal cueing and physical hands on assists.  Enhance your awareness of the poses by learning to create them will your hands as well as your voice.

Eastern Anatomy, Energetic body & the Chakras

Each weekend together explore a family of asanas related to the energetic body.  We will move through the readings and teachings from Eastern Body, Western Mind and link the physical asana practice to the energetic body and the chakras.

Hatha & Vinyasa Sequencing

In depth exploration on how to sequence both hatha & vinyasa sequences,  we will learn and practice both solar and lunar namaskars, 7 namaskars in total.  Learn how to create classes that inspire, challenge and support the student on both the physical and the energetic levels.

Meditation, Pranayama, Kundalini, Chanting & Mudras

How do you sit with yourself?  Just as the body is balance with movement, the mind becomes balance with stillness.  We will explore and practice pranayama, kundalini, chanting, mudras and a number of meditations techniques.  Using these powerful ancient tools we will shift, bring consciousness and healing to the energetic pathways of the body.

Yoga History & Philosophy

The rich heritage and wise philosophy of yoga deepens your own ability to self-reflect and give meaning and substance to your classes. Enjoying the stories and anecdotes provided to us by our teachers while studying these ancient texts.

light the path & change your life

We will begin our next voyage of discovery, camaraderie & growth this coming september.

Are you ready to join us?

Be's Yoga Teacher Training is set to begin in september.  I can already feel the excitement emanating from those already enrolled.  It's palpable.

From my experience, Yoga Teacher Training (YTT) is not just about "teaching". In fact, it really should be called Yogi Education ... after all, it's about the learning.

When I committed to teacher training like this, what I was truly committing to was a number of things:  change, self- exploration, self-discovery, developing an open mind and finding an open heart. What you will find over the course of teacher training is that all the assumptions you made about it and all the limitations you placed on yourself, and all the expectations you had of the process ...  everything ... were pointless.  It is a different reality for everyone. Yoga TT will put you into many uncomfortable situations; it will force you to stay in the moment and it will encourage you to keep struggling because you know it's all for a reason. The brilliant connections you will make with other students will be one of the most memorable and lasting benefits from your training.

For me, Yoga TT was just the beginning of a lifelong journey that I am grateful for every single day! When I finished my program, I didn't start teaching right away ... all I wanted to do was to practice more and explore as many different styles and classes and teachers as I could. It inspired me to do more, experience more and to learn even more about yoga. I cannot imagine where I would be right now if I didn't take that first step...

YTT is more than learning to teach yoga – it is about learning to live your yoga. Sometimes we have doubts about ourselves and hesitate to make a step forward. Before starting the RYT 200 training program with BeYoga&Wellness, I could hardly believe in myself but my intuition said that I was in the right hands and I made my step keeping deep faith and trust in people I came to learn from. I was originally inspired by Shelley, Tracy and Debbie, Sunil who was our Trainers. They fascinated me with their approach to teaching yoga and genuine intention to help people who seek their assistance. When classes started I was honored and pleased to meet other lovely students. But to me the best advantage of my studies was that I gained deep faith in myself, the belief I CAN DO ANYTHING. The classes were planned in such a way that students were able to handle and really enjoy the training. I have already tried to teach yoga my friends and they were truly amazed to hear so much information about moving energy in their body practicing yoga. It made me think that the information I have learned is so deep and meaningful. It was really touching to see how the training team cared about the students so that everybody’s needs were met. The teachers are passionate, dedicated, supportive, caring, focused, very knowledgeable, and wise. It has been a great journey and one I will never forget.

Before I began YTT, I was in it for basically the physical component. I wanted to stretch deeper to support my lower back injury. Then as I was learning to deepen the stretch, I began to get in touch with the spiritual side of yoga. I discovered with joy that the spiritual side IS the reason why yoga came to be. I now have a dedicated yoga space at home, my physical has deepened, my spiritual practice has been awakened and most importantly I have gained confidence to move from the back of the studio to the front.

Signing up for the YTT has been one of the best decisions I’ve made in a while.

In the past few years, I’d been so busy balancing family, life and work that I’d forgotten to devote attention and time for the things that make me happy… Making a commitment to ourselves and our goals can be difficult, when our attention is always going outward. It is very easy, to disconnect from our inner self and the experiences that make us happy and help us stay healthy.

During the past 7 months, this course has given me the opportunity to challenge myself physically, emotionally and intellectually, in a safe environment. I felt comfortable trying and learning new things, while never feeling pressured to do so. I was able to look within and remember or discover new things that make happy and help me thrive. Not to mention, I also met a group of amazing and truly inspiring people!

The course itself is very comprehensive, covering everything from yoga and meditation practice to anatomy, history and philosophy. I learned so much… Not only I fell in love with yoga all over again, but also – who knew? – with teaching!

For me, the course was just the beginning of what I’m hoping will become a life-long path of yoga teaching: learning, sharing, and wellbeing.

YTT at Be Yoga & Wellness 2017. Maybe it was not even a goal to become a yoga teacher. After YTT training - why not? If you have a passion, love what you do, love people and care about them. I’m so grateful that Yoga was brought from East to West. So, we can practice that wonderful science, I would say science to be healthy, happy, well and be at peace. It was such a joy to meet wonderful students (and be one of them in the course!) and teaches, study from them and share experiences. YTT was very well organized, great knowledgeable teaches, included special lectures from guests-specialists (ayurveda, pranayama, thai massage, pelvic health & orthopedic physiotherapist, anatomy, history of yoga). YTT was so well designed, that “naturally” leaded you to “open-up” - to Be Yourself from the beginning of the training till the end. It became just the beginning of the journey, has no end, and you will continue to swim in this big ocean of Samsara, becoming better swimmer every day. From materialistic point of view - the best way money ever invested, priceless!

The Be Yoga 200 Hour Teacher Training was transformative. Through the loving, spirited, and gentle guidance of the Be Yoga team, I learned how to bring my mind, body, and spirit onto my mat and deliver yoga in all of its benefits to others. It was challenging in the best of ways and required dedication and a heightened sense of self-awareness. The connection forged between all of us, students and teachers, was so surprising and a truly meaningful aspect of the overall training journey. This training renewed my love of yoga and deepened my knowledge and personal practice to give me confidence as a teacher. I loved every second!

Yoga teacher training first entered my thought process in 2001, 15 years later it became a reality at BE YOGA. Our special group along with our guides Tracy, Melody, Sunil and Shelley was raw and humanly wide open with our many self discoveries. We listened, absorbed, created, found emotion through tears and laughter and shared so much on those mats, ultimately finding our breathe, our courage, ourselves and YOGA! Truly an experience I will never forget, I highly recommend it!
