Acupuncture is a traditional TCM treatment involving the gentle insertion of very fine needles into specific points on the body. By stimulating these points, acupuncture is traditionally used to support the body’s natural balance and healing processes.

Mellany provides individualized acupuncture treatments for a variety of concerns, including migraines and headaches, stiff neck, whiplash, frozen shoulder, carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS), tennis and golfer’s elbow, sciatica, muscular and joint discomfort, and other pain-related conditions. Treatments are tailored to each individual based on their symptoms, overall health, and TCM assessment.

Cupping is a traditional TCM technique that uses specially designed cups to create gentle suction on the skin. Different approaches, including stationary, sliding, and flashing cupping, may be used depending on the treatment and the individual’s needs.

Cupping is traditionally used to help release muscular tension, support circulation, and promote relaxation. It may be incorporated into care for concerns such as muscle and body pain, insomnia, tinnitus, menstrual discomfort, symptoms associated with menopause, and rehabilitation support following stroke, among other conditions.

Gua Sha is a traditional TCM technique in which a smooth-edged tool is gently used to apply pressure and strokes to the skin. This treatment is traditionally used to stimulate circulation, release muscular tension, and support the movement of Qi and blood.

Gua Sha may be used as part of a treatment plan for acute or chronic pain, muscular tension, stiffness, and other areas of discomfort. Treatment is individualized according to the area being addressed and the client’s needs

Moxibustion, commonly known as Moxa, is a traditional TCM technique that uses the gentle warmth of burning dried mugwort near specific acupuncture points or areas of the body. The soothing heat is traditionally used to warm the body, stimulate acupuncture points, and support the flow of Qi and blood.

Moxa can be incorporated into individualized TCM treatments for a variety of wellness goals and concerns. Depending on the treatment approach, it may also be used in facial rejuvenation practices and as part of wellness programs that support healthy weight-management goals..
